Nintendo 3DS XL Coming This Summer

New 3DS model increasing battery life and screen size ...

During its Direct broadcast today, Nintendo revealed a revised version of the 3DS called Nintendo 3DS XL. This new system will retail for $199.99 and will be releasing this August 19th.

The new 3DS will boast screen sizes by 90%, with the top screen now 4.88 inches, and the lower screen 4.18 inches. In addition to the screen size increase, the new system will have a longer battery life ... between 3.5 and 6.5 hours while playing 3DS games, and between 6 and 10 hours while playing DS games. The charge time for this new system will take approximately 3.5 hours.

Note that no AC adapter will be included with this version. Adapters from previous DS models will be compatible the 3DS XL, others are available for separate purchase. A 4GB SD card will be included with this new system. Stay tune for more updates on this as Nintendo reveals more.
