Extended Cut to provide closure in the form of cinematic epilogue sequences ...
BioWare today announced that the "Extended Cut" promised back in April will be available as a free download this Tuesday, June 26 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.According to a post on the game's official website, "the Extended Cut is an expansion of the original endings to Mass Effect 3, it does not fundamentally change the endings, but rather it expands on the meaning of the original endings, and reveals greater detail on the impact of player decisions."
This 1.90GB download "provides more of the answers and closure that players have been asking for. It gives a sense of what the future holds as a result of the decisions made throughout the series. And it shows greater detail in the successes or failures based on how players achieved their endings."BioWare recommends that players “load a save game from before the final mission, and to play through to the end of the game.” They explained that the actual content of the Extended Cut will differ “depending on choices made throughout the Mass Effect series, so multiple playthroughs with a variety of different decisions will be required to experience the variety of possibilities offered by the new content.”
This downloadable content was promised back in April after BioWare and EA received mass criticism for how Mass Effect 3 ended. Check out our Mass Effect 3 Ending Controversial Critics'VOICE to read the discussions that took place.
