Nintendo today announced a
price cut for the
Nintendo 3DS
, dropping its price from $250 dollars to $170 this August 12. If you own a 3DS you might be having some buyer's regret right now ... but don't feel so shitty, Nintendo got you in mind. They announced that current 3DS owners, (people that bought the system before the price cut), will be eligible for free games as part of their Ambassador Program. To be eligible, you must connect to the Nintendo eShop through your 3DS before the August 12 price cut, which will automatically register you to the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program. This program will grant you access to
10 free Virtual Console NES and
10 free Gameboy Advance games.
The free NES games includes Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong Jr., Balloon Fight, Ice Climber, The Legend of Zelda plus five others. These titles will be available as paid download later this year, but members of the Ambassador Program will get them for free, early ... so when the updated versions of these titles become available to the public, Ambassadors will get them at no cost.
The list of GBA games will include Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, plus five other titles. According to Nintendo, these games will be available exclusively to members of the Ambassador Program and has no plans to make them available to the public.
Well done Nintendo ... this is some good appreciation and will ease the remorse of current 3DS owners. Let us know below what you think and if this is enough to make you feel better. Please leave your comments.
